Your Mobile Phone-What Does it Say About You?

Uncategorized | Monday August 3 2009 2:13 pm | Comments (0) Tags: , , ,

Almost everyone in the world has at least one mobile phone. Recent calculations suggest that there are approximately 2.7 billion mobile phones used everyday. The mobile phones you can buy come in a variety of shapes, designs, colours, styles and with varying functions. But what does your mobile phone say about you? Which are the most popular brands and which personality goes with which?

According to studies, the kind of phone you buy tells others a lot about you. For instance, those people who could be deemed as “geeks” have to have the current phone out there, so that they can fiddle with all of the gadgets and accessories that come with the latest mobiles. Price is not important; these models are on par with owning the current portable music players and games consoles! Similarly, those who like to party at the weekend will have a durable and fastidious handset- something that can withstand being dropped whilst dancing in a nightclub. For those who love fashion, it is likely that they will choose a handset which has interchangeable fascias; this means that they will look the part wherever they go. It is also likely that this type of personality will want a phone that allows for free ringtones and free themes so that their phone can be altered to match their clothes and mood.

These are just some of the types of personality traits that can supposedly determine the type of mobile phone that you buy. In regards to the different brands of mobiles that a person purchases also is dependent upon their personality traits. It is stated that LG’s are preferred by mums, middle- managers choose the Nokia range and everyone under the age of 24 wants a Motorola model. All of this study points to the fact that different personalities are attracted to certain kinds of phones.

It is certainly clear that as time progresses and more handsets are manufactured, the type that we purchase is of more importance to us. The provider you are with fades into the background; at the forefront of our minds is the model of phone that people see us with. This may predominantly be the case for the younger generations. They want an modern phone that has a myriad of functions. The many uses of a modern mobile including playing games, taking photographs, downloading free ringtones & free themes and listening to music are all important to the younger generation; this means that it is essential that they have the right phone. Owning the right kind of handset that has the facility to download free themes and free ringtones, play music and access the internet, is of crucial importance to teenagers and those in their early twenties.

The Mobile Phone – Much More Than Just a Phone!

Uncategorized | Wednesday July 29 2009 6:08 pm | Comments (0) Tags: , , ,

The wonder that is the mobile phone is something which is becoming more popular with every passing day.   It is hard to believe that the first phones, certainly in terms of today’s models, were around in the 1970s.   Many people only remember as far back as the 1980s, when the mobile phone was the size of a brick! It was these earlier models that were being researched in the 1970s on which many modern mobile phones are based.

Whereas many of the phones were used solely for making telephone calls in those early days, the uses of the current mobile phone is far reaching. It may appear to most that the older generation are stuck on using mobile phones for its primary function, whilst many teenagers are thirsty to use modern phones for much more than this.

Phones can be used for a whole myriad of applications as well as making calls from abroad or around the United Kingdom. Text messaging is a popular use for the modern phone. It is so common, many people can use the predictive text feature with their eyes closed! Text messaging is used everyday and can be likened to the other phenomenon of messaging using the internet. It is estimated that there are a overwhelming 8 billion text messages sent around the world every day.

Modern mobiles also allow people check football scores, catch up on the latest news, take pictures, listen to music and browse the internet. Providers of handsets are coming up with even more ways for their products to be useful for current clients and those potential clients of the future. Technologically advanced phones can be used as GPS devices, read barcodes in shops, find local petrol stations or restaurants, calculate the amount to tip a waitress or ensure that a shelf is put up straight.

A lot of people like to make their handset more personal to them. It is common practise, certainly among younger people, to add a free ringtone or free theme to a handset; this is a fantastic way to demonstrate their own style. There is a myriad of places where you can acquire free themes and free ringtones. Some phones have these applications available on the handset itself; otherwise it is possible to download them from other sources. There are all kinds of free ringtones and free themes to choose from and you are sure to find one that you like very easily. These options are just a handful of the ways people make their mobiles more cheery and practical to use.

There are many packages to choose from when you purchase a currentmobile phone. You can use pay-as-you-go where you top up your phone in a shop, online, via the handset or by contacting the mobile company. Alternatively you can get a monthly contract for your handset which means you pay a set fee each month. Many of these packages include items such as free texts, free calls or free music downloads to encourage people to use their phones for more than just making bog-standard calls.

Owning a mobile phone is truly exciting nowadays; the phones come in a myriad of colours, patterns, sizes and shapes. And there is no need to carry brick sized handsets around anymore as many of the modern mobile are designed to be petite and pocket sized. With competition growing, mobile phone providers are eager to get the business and so they are making every effort to make sure that they are at the frontier of current technology.

Uncategorized | Friday July 17 2009 1:39 pm | Comments (0) Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Can you imagine life without a mobile? I certainly can’t. It has become as vital to the majority of us as our hands. And the same as we adorn our bodies, so we adorn our cell phone with ringtones. And ringtones can be great fun, as well. Let’s face it, it is of no concern the amount some folk peer down at those of us who like those quirky ringtones, there’s nothing like an amusing ringtone to loosen up a tedious work meeting, for instance. This writing is for the intention to look at the phenomenon of ringtones, which are entertainment for most of us, and good enterprise for some.

Winds of change
The days of the same monotonous ringtones on whatever cell unit purchased are long gone. These days, the cell ringtone business has become a mega-million dollar empire that makes unique content every day, and fiercely pushes ringtones at you through every possible channel, mostly the Internet.

Must haves
The only thing you require to get all the cool ringtones you want is to be connected to the ‘Net. The amont of web sites where you can get free ringtone downloads are too many to count, especially the cell phone ones. The only thing that you have to do is to load some file conversion software to allow you to change the format so you can upload to the phone.

Options unlimited
When the fundamentals set, the amount of ringtones you can get are almost unlimited, so you are likely to end up with a problem of plenty. At the end of the day, if you can get all ten of your best songs as ringtones, who wouldn’t want that? And more so because you can’t really use the same ringtone for too long, so you will need to keep changing tones, which means you’d better have a good assortment of ringtones ready to go.

How to get ringtones for your mobile

Uncategorized | Monday July 6 2009 3:08 am | Comments (0) Tags: , , ,

Once upon a time cell phones were used purely to send and accept calls, since then technology has evolved so much new phones are almost unrecognisable from the old brick style phones with extendable aerials, the new iphone for example has an mp3 player, camera has a crystal clear display in fact it would be easy to forget its a cell phone as well. Phones can not only be practical but can be fun as well, they can now hold games, browse the web and of course ringtones.

A ring tone is a noise your mobile can play when you get an received call or message, this can range from an alien zapper to a traditional tune, most people go for up-to-the-minute chart ringtones but the range and choice is much wider, you can get ringtones for every occasion. A ringtone is the name given to a sound that alerts you when a mobile phone receives an incoming call or message. On most modern phones these ringtones can be easily personalized and you can have a another tone for every caller and occasion. In fact part of the fun of customizable ringtones is the ability to be able to transform them at will

Getting ringtones on your phone can be achieved in many ways, You can often get them though your mobile supplier but they will charge you for the privilege, some of these involve you getting sent new ringtones on a recurring basis, but the charges can prove expensive. As a result most people prefer to download free ringtones from the internet. There are many sites which provide ringtones for cell phones be careful as there may be a charge attached but there are lots of sites out there from which you can simply download ringtones free of charge. There are 3 main type of ringtones you can download.

- Monophonic. This ringtone type can only play a single note at a time (hence mono) this gives you the impression of the tune but is not that realistic
- Polyphonic. Polyphonic ringtones can play multiple notes at once, this give a more life like sound and will sound more like an original track
- Truetone. These are normally smaller  versions of a song normally in mp3 format

One of the best sites for free ringtones http://www.ringtones4all.com, here you will find mono and polyphonic ringtones, available in a large range of formats there is also logos, themes and wallpapers. The is a large ammount of ringtones to choose from.

Ringtones for your Iphone

PocketMac Iphone ringtone creator

Got an Iphone and want some new kick ass tunes, well it may have been some time since apple added the ability to create custom Iphone ringtones in Itunes, and yes whilst this is a major step forward it does have 2 limitations. First you can only create ringtones from content you have bought, which is suppose is kind of fair, second you need to pay 99 cents for each customer ringtone you make, Doesn’t sound a lot but it will soon add up read on and we can show you how to make the same ringtone quickly and easily.

Enter PocketMac’s RingtoneStudio this nifty little piece of software allows you to make your own ringtone from almost any audio or video file on your Mac’s hard drive and even better its so easy to use.The only limitation is that the files must not be DRM protected (the downside to Itunes). To create your own customer ringtone is easy simply drag and drop a song, sound or video (even quicktime compatible video) file onto the ringtone studio window, testing this functionality we managed to convert a wide array of files quickly and easily. The only limitation we found was the DRM-protected files

Once you have dragged your media file onto the application then PocketMac Ringtone Studio for iPhone allows you to crop the source into a much smaller file which can easily be transfered to your Iphone. The PocketMac's cropping tool allows you to grab just the right section of audio for your personal ringtone. Depending on the length of your ringtone you will get different options if the sample is less than 30 seconds long then Ringtone studio will automatically converts the whole file into and iphone ringtone and places it neatly in your Itunes ringtone collection. If the sample is longer than 30 seconds then you get the option to clip out which ever 30 second section you wnat, again once selected the ringtones will be placed in Itunes, hopefully in a later version you will be able to clip longer and shorter lengths but as limitations go it wont casuse you too many issues.

The limitation of not being able to convert DRM-protected songs may prove a major issue if most of the music on your hard drive has been purchased from Itunes . But if you have plenty of good non protected music or videos then you can easily soon create a rather impressive range of ringtones for your iphone

Purchase PocketMac's RingtoneStudio here

Mobile Phones and 2 Must Have Accessories

Uncategorized | Wednesday June 17 2009 5:01 am | Comments (0) Tags: , ,

Mobile phones have come a long way. The days of the car phone that started it all are a distant memory. Today’s phones allow for completely mobile calling without the wire and they are picket sized as well.

And, with the highly competitive mobile phone market, cheap mobile phones are much more readily available compared to their ancestors from back in the day, when mobile phones cost a lot more.

There are so many accessories for cell phones. Take cell phone bling and charms for example, people seem to be fascinated with decorating their phones. With colorful faceplates, jewels and even lights there is something for everyone.

Popular Cell Accessories
Overall cell phone accessories are plentiful, from the functional to the cosmetic the selection is never short. There are two that seem to have reached the peak of popularity.

Ringtones
Ringtones hit the market by storm and continue to be one of the most sought after and most profitable parts of the mobile phone industry. Verizon ringtones, and most any model of cell phone ringtones are capable to not only play standard tones but alsto ringback tones that play a certain music selection for the caller instead of the standard ringing sound.

The introduction of real music tones, which makes it possible to download real mp3 music tracks to phones really plummeted the growth of the ringtone accessory, because most of any of the big music hits and chart toppers are available as ringtones, as well as, popular TV and movie themes. These allow people to not only personalize their phones but to also use them for entertainment purposes.

Bluetooth Technology
Bluetooth replaces cables by providing superb wireless technology. Originally the idea came from Ericson and has been developed by a ton of other companies. Bluetooth, which is a small cheap radio chip that provides for wireless technology for many devices.

It is a chip that carries signals via a special frequency to the target object, such as a cell phone, that would normally be transmitted via a cable or cord. Bluetooth makes cell phones much more functional.

Bluetooth mobile phone headsets are little gadgets that fit snug to the ear and when Bluetooth is used with a cell phone, the user need not touch the phone, but instead can leave it in their pocket and perform most of the mobile tasks by using the in-ear Bluetooth headset. Main functions include, completely wireless answering, talking and dialing of the phone.

Iphone Ring tones

Uncategorized | Sunday June 7 2009 10:02 am | Comments (0) Tags: , ,

Iphone users are already used to having the latest gadgetry on there phone, just one look at the Iphone with its stunning features, a full screen Ipod, an easy to use Internet browser where you can get your emails almost instantly, support for Microsoft Exchange and GPRS (with support for Nike +) in fact its easy to forget its actually a phone as well. The new 3G Iphone is available in more languages and more countries than ever.

Getting a new ringtone for you Iphone is easy, and if you use Itunes then the selection is fantastic, well over half a million songs to choose from. With all the latest tracks and some great classics the only issue you’re going to have is narrowing down exactly what you want for your ringtone. The massive choice available from using Itunes and the fact that the ringtone once downloaded is yours to keep are a good enough reason but the price of just under $2 is another reason. Ok there are some free ringtones out there but there not as easy to get on your phone as ones on Itunes and for the sake of $2 That’s a pretty sweet deal for a ringtone you select yourself from a play list that spans more than half a million songs.

Making your ringtones isn’t difficult either; Itunes guides you through the whole process step by step (would an apple product do it any other way?) All you need to do is just select the songs from your library that are marked with the ringtone symbol. Once you see that, you are ready to create your thirty-second ringtone for your iPhone. With almost half a million songs to select from, its easy to choose a song that suits every person in your life , this is a great feature allowing you to set a different ringtone for each caller, that way you know without looking at the phone exactly who is calling (sometimes just so you don’t answer). Create custom ringtones for all the different people that call you. Have a special ringtone so you’ll know that your boss is calling, another for your girlfriend. This is a fun feature that will have you answering each call, knowing exactly who the person is right at that first ring.

Many people are now addicted to there Iphones, this feature rich device impresses on so many levels. The ability to be online, use their cell phone and have iPod technology right in the palms of their hands is so useful. This is a device you'll turn to again and again. Apple have certainly created a winner and you know that over time the technology is only going to get better and better
